Munchkins, III

$3,075.00

This is my forth and final painting of The Munchkins. One was a preliminary painting sketch, this is the third large painting. The location of this mountain is in the Alpine Meadows/Palisades area of Lake Tahoe. I grew up skiing at this ski area. My mother worked in accounting for Alpine Meadows, therefore the mountains were our playground. This particular outcropping of rocks is known as “The Munchkins”, or”Munchkins”, for its chutes which skiers climb up and ski down. I have no idea why Munchkins, but I have fallen in love with this mountain and its many views, and the many neighbors I met while painting it. It has a reverential feel and presence. The people who live at the base of the mountain, speak of it in spiritual terms.

Painting, Oil on Canvas

Size: 36 W x 36 H x 1.5 D in

Domestic shipping included (excludes Hawaii and Alaska), please contact directly for international shipping rates.
